The Nissan GT-R leaves it all on the track, stunning adrenaline junkies with its rapid acceleration and nimble handling. New GT-R models pack more power than ever before, with top speeds falling just shy of 200mph.
Here at your hometown car dealer in Orangeburg, SC, we at Nissan of Orangeburg share your need for speed – and your curiosity about one of the most exciting models on the market. We’ve highlighted some key features of the 2024 GT-R below, so check them out.
A Storied Past, An Exciting Future: From Skyline to GT-R
The Skyline cruised onto the scene in 1957, produced by Prince Motor Company until the brand merged with Nissan in 1966. Production continued for decades, with the Skyline morphing from luxury sedan to sportscar over the years.
By 1969, the very first performance-focused Skyline GT-R made its grand debut at the Tokyo Motor Show. Equipped with an inline six engine that cranked out 160 horsepower, first generation models landed on lots until 1972.
It wasn’t until 2008 that the Nissan GT-R hit the pavement in the U.S. The Skyline name was dropped and a twin-turbo V6 engine was added, now boasting 473 horsepower to compete with sports cars on the global stage. With an aggressive stance and sculpted body, the new GT-4 not only brought speed to the streets, but style too.
The 2024 Nissan GT-R lineup brings back the T-spec trim, a worthy addition to the Premium and NISMO trims. New paint colors are now available as well, with Millennium Jane and Midnight Purple paying homage to the rarest of GT-Rs: the R34 generation.
Both the GT-R Premium and T-spec® harness 565 horses, while NISMO models pull ahead of the pack with 600 horsepower. No matter which trim you choose, the 2024 GT-R features refreshed front and rear fascias, a new rear wing design, and a more aerodynamic silhouette.
