How to Program

The programming process is simple, requiring just a few easy steps! Here’s what you need to do:

Step 1: Get in your Nissan vehicle and lock the doors.

Step 2: Put the key in the ignition without starting the car. Then, remove the key and repeat until you see the hazard lights flash twice. This means your Nissan has entered “Program Mode.”

Step 3: Put the key back into the ignition and turn to the first position. The electronics should activate, but the engine should not start.

Step 5: Test the key fob by stepping a few feet away from the vehicle. If the lights flash or the horn beeps, programming has been a success!

Changing the Battery

Because your key fob is crucial to your commute, Nissan made sure that changing the battery takes only minutes! You’ll need a small screwdriver and a new battery – and that’s it!

Step 1: Use the screwdriver to open the fob.

Step 2: Take the hidden key out and use it to pry open the fob’s two halves. Focus on the slits at the fob’s top and use as little force as possible to prevent damage.

Step 3: Find the old battery and remove it.

Step 4: Put in the new battery, making sure the negative side is facing the same direction as before.

Step 5: Put the fob back together and make sure it is functioning properly.

Note: Be sure to keep the fob away from anything magnetic during the battery replacement process to avoid damaging its inner components.
