Nissan Teams With Red Bull Flugtag Nashville

Nissan proudly announced earlier this month that the automaker has been named the exclusive automotive partner of Red Bull Flugtag Nashville. The event will be held at Nashville's Riverfront Park on Saturday, September 23, and is expected to draw 80,000 people to the shores of the Cumberland River.

Among the 42 human-powered flying machines "fly" off of a 110-foot-long, 24-foot-high ramp will be a team of 15 Nissan employees from the company's nearby Smyrna plant. They're currently spending nights and weekends engineering their "Take On Flight"-themed entry, using their experience, engineering skills and access to computer modeling software to make sure that their vehicle meets Red Bull Flugtag restrictions on vehicle weight and wingspan.

In a press release, Jeremy Tucker, Nissan's vice president, Marketing Communications and Media, stated, "Nissan is proud to be partnering with Red Bull and hosting this celebration of engineering and ingenuity in our hometown of Nashville. With our North American headquarters nearby, Nissan Stadium as a backdrop, and a team of employees creating its own Flugtag from the nearby Smyrna Assembly plant, Nissan had to be a part of the fun."

KBB.com Says the Nissan Versa Note is a Best Car for Back-to-School

The Nissan Versa Note has received a place on Kelley Blue Book's KBB.com "10 Best Back-to-School Cars" list for the third consecutive year, with editors crediting the restyled Versa Note for its heady blend of spaciousness, available options and versatility -- all in the vehicle with the lowest starting price on the list.

In order to earn a spot on the list, vehicles needed to meet the editors' criteria of being both stylish and safe, and must be available for purchase at a Kelley Blue Book Fair Purchase Price below than $20,000.

The 2017 Versa Note received a fresh front end design and a newer, more refined interior. Offered in four trim levels (S Plus, SV, SR and SL), the Versa Note is powered by a 1.6-liter DOHC 16-valve 4-cylinder engine that's matched to a Xtronic transmission to help achieve an estimated 39 mpg highway fuel economy.

At Nissan of Orangeburg, we're proud to serve drivers from the Orangeburg, Cayce, Gaston and Saint Matthews areas.

Automated Brakes Soon Standard on Nissan

Last year the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reached a voluntary agreement with 20 vehicle manufacturers to make automated braking the standard by the year 2022. But, Nissan has decided to up the ante and begin standardizing their vehicles ahead of the new federal safety rules by four years.

Nissan estimates that by the year 2018 they will have 1 million vehicles equipped with the updated brake technology. The models included in the 2018 standard rollout include Altima, Maxima, Murano, Pathfinder, Rogue, Rogue Sport and Sentra, except for models equipped with manual transmission or NISMO-trim packages.

Nissan hopes the move will increase buyer acceptance of the new brake technology. Nissan North America's vice president of product planning, Michael Bunce, stated, "We've begun to see in our market research that this system is resonating with consumers. Once they have it and experience it activating just one time, they can't live without it."

The company will continue adding the standard safety feature to their product line over the next few years until it's on 100 percent of their models.
